Meet AED’s New Regional Managers!

Jonathan Fletcher

Jonathan Fletcher of Gastonia, North Carolina, will be covering the Northeast United States, from South Carolina through Maine. Leading up to his new role, Jonathan spent 13 years working at his grandfather’s business, a small company in North Carolina called Wyant and Son Monument Co. He helped his grandfather manage the business, an experience that allowed Jonathan to gain knowledge of how small businesses operate, build customer relationships and work with distributors. In this role, he had his first experience working around heavy machinery, including a Ferrari crane truck.

Jonathan was drawn to the role of regional manager in part because of AED’s participation in government affairs. As a new member of his local community college’s board of trustees, Jonathan is actively involved in local politics. On the board, he helps to oversee financial and policy decisions. He is eager to learn more about The AED Foundation and the accreditation process to see if his local community college would be a good fit. In addition, he looks forward to helping dealers in his region get involved with local community colleges.

Jonathan enjoys working with people and learning more about them, and he can’t wait to meet the members of his region. He wants to let them know that he prides himself on being honest and working with integrity. “I want my members to know that if I tell them something, I mean it, and I am going to do my best to make sure that what they need is taken care of.”

What do you like to do outside of work? Do you have any hobbies?

As for hobbies, I do a little bit of graphic design and photography, but my biggest hobby right now is that I have over 30 chickens; sometimes I go to the local farmers market and sell eggs.

Where’s your favorite place to travel?

JF: My dad lives in upstate New York, near Syracuse, and I like to go visit him up there.

Do you have a favorite book or podcast?

What is your favorite quote?

JF: “Do or do not – there is no try.” – Master Yoda, Star Wars

What kind of music do you like?

Jonathon Porter

Jonathon Porter is based in Houston, Texas, and will be covering the Western United States, excluding Oregon and Washington. Before he came to AED, Jonathon was a branding consultant and mixologist. He has also gained political experience working in a consulting firm collecting election data. Jonathon's background has helped him to develop skills that he carries with him into this new role. He believes that his prior experience has allowed him to build relationships and practice interpersonal communication skills that he feels have well prepared him for becoming a regional manager for AED.

One of the draws of the position for Jonathon was the political aspect, and he is looking forward to expanding his knowledge and getting to know members. He says, “The more I learn about AED, the more excited I become about the role.”

Jonathon wants members to know that he is a New Orleans Saints fan and that bourbon and cigars are a great way to get to know him.

Connor Norris

Connor Norris lives in Clearwater, Florida, and will be AED’s regional manager for the Southeastern United States, including Indiana and Ohio. He is a recent graduate of Florida State University, where he earned his master’s degree in political science. He has spent time working at his family business in the car dealership industry, which he feels has given him a good business sense and prepared him for working in the heavy equipment industry. In addition, he is educated on public policy issues and government relations work.

Connor is pleased about using his new role to advocate for AED. He describes the industry as “the backbone of our nation” and admires how it helps to construct nearly everything in our day-to-day lives. He is looking forward to traveling to events and building relationships with his region’s members to help them advance their businesses in any way possible.

He wants members to know that he is always available to discuss their problems and concerns. He looks forward to talking with them about everything from business to life to sports.
