Support a Worthy Cause During the 2020 Summit

With the 2020 Summit around the corner, that means we also are looking forward to the annual AED Foundation Fundraising Gala! Taking place during Summit, the Gala is a night focused solely on the mission of The AED Foundation and supporting the industry.

This year’s event will take place on Tuesday, January 14, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, where all Summit action will be happening. The Gala is an additional ticketed event; each ticket costs $200, or you can get a premium package consisting of ten tickets for $2,000. Those who purchase the package will have their company’s name on our VIP signage. This year’s theme will be a Chicago-focused night of food, fun, entertainment, networking, and supporting a great cause.

Please come dressed in business casual attire for the evening. You are also encouraged to bring a charged smartphone to participate in mobile bidding on silent auction items.

The Gala supports The AED Foundation not only through ticket sales but also with the proceeds from the live and silent auctions. All proceeds will help us reach our goals to create pathways to career opportunities for the future workforce of the industry, which includes accrediting school programs, promoting career development, and helping to develop industry research. The AED Foundation team’s goal is to raise $125,000 during the 2020 event, so we hope we can count on you for support of the cause! Go to today to purchase your tickets.

On this occasion, The AED Foundation takes the time to honor those doing exceptional work in the industry. The Lester J. Heath Award will be awarded to one AED member who has shown outstanding commitment to and support of the Foundation.

This year, we will also honor those who could be considered the heart and soul of our dealerships: our technicians. We will be presenting the inaugural AED Foundation Technicians of the Year awards to one technician in every AED region who is working hard inside and outside of the dealership.

These awards will highlight the importance of the technician career, build additional awareness about the technician shortage that is impacting the industry, and promote the career to students, parents, educators, and other stakeholders.

If you want to show your support and recognize a worthy technician, you can nominate them for this award. To find out about qualifications and rules for these awards, visit Nominations will be open until
Friday, November 5.

I look forward to seeing you all in Chicago for the 2020 AED Summit to kick off what is sure to be another successful year!
