New updates make AEDUniversity's professional continuing education easier, while industry-specific content and guides enable professional education without travel.

As part of its ongoing mission to provide convenient and affordable professional education to AED members, The AED Foundation is pleased to announce exciting changes in both its online learning management system, AEDUniversity, and its self-study modules.

AEDUniversity,, facilitates the delivery of seminars, self-study and online courses. The Web site allows AED members to view upcoming seminars and available courses, register and pay for courses, as well as access course materials and take assessments. In addition, candidates for AED Management Certification may complete their basic skills assessments and access their specific Professional Development Plans through AEDUniversity.

“We have rebuilt AEDUniversity from the ground up to provide users with a clean and simple interface that is easy to navigate,” said Chirag Shah, AED’s senior program analyst. “We want our members to be able to use the system to its fullest potential.”

In addition, learners will be treated to newly redesigned participant guides loaded with new features and material for The AED Foundation’s People Management, and Sales and Customer Management series of self-study modules.

“We have completely rewritten our participant guides to bring a more industry-specific context to the courses and to make professional education user-friendly and accessible,” said Alison Wechman, manager of professional education.

The new participant guides feature TimeTracks to help learners efficiently plan their professional education work, and a progress bar to show learners how far along they are in the course.

“These guides are also written in a casual and supportive style,” said Wechman. “We wanted the self-study learner to feel as though (s)he is working with an instructor and to have a sense of the same rapport that one enjoys in live learning environments.”

The new participant guides are available for People Management 101-104 and Sales and Customer Management 101-103.
