Longtime president Monty Boyd purchased the company at the end of December.
Whayne Supply Co., a Louisville, Ky.- based Caterpillar dealer, has merged with Boyd Co. LLC, a limited liability corporation wholly owned by Monty L. Boyd. The merger of ownership became effective on Dec. 31, 2008.
Boyd has worked for Whayne Supply for the past 24 years and is currently serving as president. He will remain president of the company and now has the added title of chairman of the board.
Whayne Supply will continue as the Caterpillar dealer for Kentucky and southern Indiana. Boyd intends to operate the company under the Whayne name with the same employees, products and facilities.
“We are expending every effort to make this merger transparent to our employees and through our daily operations provide the highest level of quality service, parts and equipment that our customers have learned to expect,” said Boyd. “We look forward to continuing and expanding our existing relationships with our customers and suppliers with the same individual employees they are used to dealing with and are accustomed to seeing. Our commitment is to continue to be the best equipment dealer we can.”
Whayne Supply was founded in 1913 by Roy C. Whayne, Sr. With approximately 1,400 employees today, the company operates 15 facilities in 12 locations throughout Kentucky and southern Indiana.
Doosan Infracore Portable Power Creates Dealer Advisory Council
Doosan Infracore Portable Power has formed a new dealer advisory council comprised of 10 executives representing dealers throughout the country.
Dealers appointed to the council represent territories in which they conduct business and interact with fellow Doosan Infracore Portable Power dealers in their respective territories. Council member terms are three years.
“This 10-member council is representative of our channel and will provide insight from throughout the dealer network,” said Rita Moore, director, sales and channel development North America, Doosan Infracore Portable Power. “We look forward to our work and communication with these members in addressing regional business concerns, aligned with our market objectives and channel goals.”

Metal Forms Corp. Celebrates 100 Years
Metal Forms Corp. (MFC), a manufacturer in the concrete construction industry, will celebrate its 100th anniversary this year. The company, which began as a manufacturer of concrete forms, was the first to successfully design and produce a steel form for constructing concrete homes and buildings.
Innovation has continued through the company’s 100-year history, as Metal Forms has been awarded more than 40 U.S. and foreign patents. The company currently holds nine registered U.S. and Canadian trademarks.
As part of their centennial celebration, Metal Forms is holding a contest to locate the oldest MFC paving form. Entries will be judged on the authenticity and details surrounding and verifying either the oldest existing MFC paving form or the oldest or longest continual “in use” MFC paving form.

Holt Cat has appointed Rene Zapata a sales representative for Holt Rental Services. Zapata, who will cover the San Antonio, Texas, region, will be responsible for promoting the rental Caterpillar and allied construction equipment.
In addition, Holt Crane & Equipment has named Michael Downer a service and parts manager for Houston, San Antonio and Irving, Texas. He will be responsible for managing all aspects of Holt’s Link-Belt crane service and parts operations.

JLG has appointed Donald F. Roy to the role of senior vice president of manufacturing. In this role, Roy will be responsible for leading JLG operations and lean initiatives, as well as developing and executing JLG’s global manufacturing strategy.
Foley Inc. has launched a newly redesigned corporate Web site at www.foleyinc.com. The site is designed to enhance their customers’ overall experience, and contains upgraded features such as the latest company and industry news, improved usability and streamlined navigation. The goal of the site is to make it easier for customers to conduct their business with Foley, as well as provide more online information on the products and services offered. The U.S. Army has selected Meccanica Breganzes (MB) crusher buckets for the construction and renovation of houses for military families. The project was awarded to Giberson Enterprises in New Jersey, the U.S. importers of MB buckets. The project, which will build or refurbish a total of 2,084 homes, will be completed in 2011.
Warren Cat has selected Accruit LLC as its like-kind exchange (LKE) service provider. Accruit’s LKE services, which are built on the industry’s only patented process, include single exchanges, reverse exchanges and full-service repetitive exchange programs.
