Encourage your managers to join the industry elite through management certification.

AED Certified managers are counted among the finest in the equipment distribution industry. Through their commitment to ongoing professional development and a dedication to serving their organizations, these managers are setting the benchmark for workplace performance.

Inspire your managers to join these industry leaders by seeking management certification in 2009. When you invest in your managers through AED Management Certification, you are working to build a powerful leadership force within your dealership.

AED Certification will ensure that your managers have the crucial management skills they need to lead your dealership effectively. Certification is a benefit available to all AED members through The AED Foundation, and is available for parts, service, rental, and branch operations management.

To be considered for certification, managers must have three years of management experience, current employment with an AED member company, and the written recommendation of a supervisor.

The AED Foundation initiates the certification process by working with managers to create a Personal Development Plan to outline an individual path to certification based on current performance levels and goals for achievement. Managers may complete their certification requirements though self-study courses, seminars, or through previous training. Managers who complete the required formal training and achieve a minimum score of 80 percent on the certification examination will be certified.

The AED Foundation recognizes certified managers by awarding a plaque and a pin at the time of certification, and they are recognized in Construction Equipment Distribution magazine. In addition, all newly certified managers are invited to attend AED’s Annual Meeting & CONDEX, where they are publicly recognized for their accomplishment.

For information about certification or any of the AED Foundation’s educational programs, please visit www.aedu.org or call Carol Schrader at 630-468-5113.
