New Online Financial Course
Gone are the days when online learning meant a PowerPoint with audio.
The AED Foundation is pleased to announce the release of Financial Management 101: Introduction to Business Finance for Non-Financial Managers. This new course is the latest addition to The AED Foundation’s collection of industry-specific professional education products available to AED members.
Financial Management 101 will give participants a foundational introduction to basic accounting and finance terms, practices and methods. The course will teach participants how to read, interpret, and understand three major financial statements: the balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement.
Financial Management 101 features an interactive online interface to teach the fundamental elements of accounting and business finance in the context of the dealership environment. “It was very important to me to design a course that would appeal directly to adult learners by presenting information in a manner that is straightforward and intellectual, yet entertaining,” said Alison Wechman, The AED Foundation’s manager of professional education.
The course features bright colors and graphics with interactive elements on every page. “Some adults learn best through
visual cue, some by listening, and others by doing – we have tried to meet the needs of all learners through this course,” said Wechman.
The new online module is The AED Foundation’s response to member requests for professional education that is both convenient and affordable. Not only is the Financial Management 101 easily accessible through AED University with a secure Web connection, the course offers features to help professionals manage their learning experience. Learners can use a feature called Time Tracks, for example, to select the timeline for course completion that fits into their busy schedules.
“This course is designed with the busy dealership professional in mind,” said Wechman. “It’s a brand new approach that’s accessible, innovative, and most important, useful.”
Financial Management 101 is available exclusively through AED University for $295 for 30 days of course access and a participant guide to keep, complete with sample documents.
