Case Expands B Series Excavator Line

Three new models have been introduced.

Case Construction Equipment has announced the addition of the CX350B, CX470B and CX700B to its CX B Series line of excavators. These new models feature increased fuel efficiency and productivity, as well as improved operator comfort and ease of maintenance.
The new excavators deliver significant increases in fuel efficiency – up to 7 percent better than the previous model due to the common rail fuel injection system and the redesigned hydraulic system.

The increased hydraulic horsepower results in faster cycle times and more material moved per hour. Plus, larger-diameter hydraulic cylinders provide increased breakout forces. In addition, the company says the noise levels inside the isolation-mounted cab on the CX350B and CX700B are among the quietest in the industry. The cab also features reinforced tubular structures, which dampen vibrations.

These excavators also feature electronically controlled, common rail Tier 3-certified 7.8L Case engines that deliver 271 hp to 463 hp. The CX350B has an operating weight of 79,065 pounds, a bucket digging force of 51,436 pounds and a maximum dig depth of 24 feet 1 inch. The CX470B has an operating weight of 103,800 pounds, a bucket digging force of 55,528 pounds and a maximum dig depth of 25 feet 4 inches. The CX700B has an operating weight of 153,400 pounds, a bucket digging force of 65,194 pounds and a maximum dig depth of 27 feet 7 inches.

Plenty of Power in Compact Grinder

Peterson’s new 2710C high production track grinder features either the Caterpillar C13 engine at 475-hp or an optional C15 at 580-hp, both of which provide plenty of power in a compact grinder. At 59,000 pounds the grinder was designed for operations requiring high production and frequent moves between jobs. With a feed opening of 60 3/4 by 32 inches combined with Peterson’s high-lift feed roll for an optional opening of up to 44 inches, the 2710C can readily reduce a wide range of material. The Impact Release System can be set in the detent mode to provide consistent product sizing or switched to the floating anvil mode for a primary reduction where accurate sizing is less critical. In addition, the grinder features the Adaptive Control System and a fully adjustable feed system that is optimized for a wide range of materials.

Improved Operator Comfort, Enhanced Productivity

Terex has introduced a new articulated dump truck, the TA30, which features the unique Terex independent front suspension system with integral wet disc brakes. Terex TA articulated haulers are fitted with the latest Tier 3 engines for optimum performance and fuel efficiency. The TA30 has a 350-hp Cummins QSM11 engine and a maximum payload of 30.9 tons.

The Terex independent front suspension system is a purpose-designed, parallel-linkage coil-spring system. It not only increases driver comfort but also significantly adds to the potential for increased productivity by providing a smooth ride and improved handling, which can result in faster cycle times. Another important feature of the latest generation of Terex articulated haulers is the provision of all-round, fully-enclosed wet-disc brakes on all wheels, providing long-life and fade-free braking. This improves not only overall braking performance and operating efficiency, but, says the manufacturer, it also greatly increases service life and reduces operating costs.

HKX’s Factory Integrated Attachment Control

HKX Inc. continues to increase the ease of attachment control by offering the first aftermarket hydraulic kit that integrates with the factory controls. Other kits require peripheral controls to operate attachments, but with high-tech joysticks and color monitors coming standard in many of the new models of excavators, the add-ons can reduce functionality and intuitive control of attachments. HKX now offers integrated attachment control through your factory equipment (i.e. joystick and/or monitor). No more clunky switches or aftermarket joystick controls.
