Anyone who has ever watched ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" show, is familiar with the generous outpouring of support and volunteerism that occurs for each project on which the program's cast embarks.
Such was the case for Pine Bush Equipment, a dealership located in Pine Bush, N.Y., which recently provided 14 light towers, four Kubota RTVs and their time to assist Ty Pennington and the crew build a recreation center at Clearpool Education Center, a 100-year old summer camp for disadvantaged children. The rec center was built as part of the Oatman-Gaitan Family episode that aired May 20.
"We were on call for them 24/7," said Donna Nowak, marketing administrator for Pine Bush. "If they needed assistance for anything, such as repairing equipment, we accommodated them any way we could."
The rec center was built over a four-day period. The crew had to tear down an existing building to put up the new structure.
"It was such a wonderful experience," she said. "You just cannot imagine how everyone comes together in such a short amount of time. There is just such an outpouring of community effort."
Pine Bush represents a number of manufacturers, including Komatsu, Kubota, Bomag, Cedarrapids, Gehl, Moxy and Hydrema.
