Pat Olney has been appointed president of Volvo Construction Equipment's new road machinery business. Volvo acquired Ingersoll Rand's road development division earlier this year.

Prior to joining Volvo, Olney served as a financial analyst, investor relations manager, financial controller and treasury manager for Champion Road Machinery in Goderich, Ontario, Canada. In 1997, Volvo acquired Champion Road Machinery. In 2001, Olney became Volvo's senior vice president of finance and chief financial officer. In 2004 he was named president of the motor grader business line.

Volvo supplies equipment and services to the road building, road maintenance and general construction markets.

Astec Underground has announced the opening of Astec Underground of the Carolinas. The new dealership, owned by Kiely Equipment Co. and based in Taggart Creek, N.C., will offer sales, service and rental to the utility, irrigation, landscape and directional drilling markets of North and South Carolina.

Astec Underground manufactures utility trenchers, vibratory plows, horizontal directional drilling systems, boring machines, drilling fluid systems, maxi-rig HDD systems, specialty trenchers and heavy-duty rock excavation machines for underground applications.

Stone Construction Equipment has appointed William Quigley the district manager for New England and the Canadian provinces of Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and parts of Quebec.

Dale Wilson has been appointed the regional manager for the Southern region. He will be responsible for managing the region's direct and indirect sales representatives.

Stone Construction Equipment manufactures concrete, mortar and silo mixers, hand-held compaction equipment, ride-on asphalt and dirt rollers, trench compactors, power trowels and material handling equipment.

Liebherr Construction Equipment Co. has appointed two new employees. Edward Nittinger has been named a district sales manager. He will be responsible for developing sales objectives, training customers on Liebherr products, and coordinating marketing strategies.

Jeffrey Shadowens has been named a product specialist for loaders and dozers responsible for training and product support.

Liebherr manufactures construction and earthmoving equipment.

Equipment Trader Online has named Kelly A. Lowe its marketing manager. She will develop marketing initiatives and assist with strategic planning. Equipment Trader Online is a classified advertising Web site for heavy equipment buyers and sellers.

Howard Slaff has been named director of marketing for Godwin Pumps, a pump manufacturer. He will be responsible for Godwin's integrated marketing campaign to increase sales and rentals and enhance brand presence throughout the world.

Godwin also named Garry Hager branch manager of its Charlotte, N.C., location. Hager spent 16 years with ABS Pumps working with submersible pumps, aeration equipment, blowers and mixers, beginning with inside sales and operations management responsibilities and concluding with responsibility for the Southeast region.
