The company will continue to operate under the Wolverine name.
Volvo Construction Equipment has purchased Wolverine Tractor & Equipment Co., the Volvo dealer for the state of Michigan. The company will continue to operate under the Wolverine name from its present sales and services branches located in Detroit, Brighton, Byron Center, Casco, Holt, and Grand Rapids, Mich. Company headquarters will remain in Southfield.
Wolverine was appointed the exclusive dealer for Volvo CE for Michigan in 2004.
In addition, company management will remain the same, according to Rick Simon, Wolverine's chairman. Wolverine also carries Bomag, Case, Gomaco, Terex, Link-Belt, Ed Etnyre & Co. and Fuchs. Simon says Wolverine will most likely continue to represent the same manufacturers, but details of the acquisition have not yet been finalized.
"We know there is a bunch of positive change on the horizon," says Simon.
