Daniel Kaplan, founder and president of Daniel Kaplan Associates and frequent speaker for AED has been named to the American Rental Association's Rental Hall of Fame. Kaplan was named to the Hall of Fame as a result of his outstanding contributions to the rental industry.
Prior to forming Daniel Kaplan Associates, Kaplan worked for Hertz Equipment Rental Corp. for 15 years. He was the first successful pioneer of large, multi-branch nationwide rental operations, and he introduced business management principles to the industry that were rental-specific.
Kaplan demonstrated how rental operations could be managed against measurable performance standards. These initiatives were a first for the industry and contributed to the development of rental as an enterprise capable of maturing and growing into a significant force in the U.S. economy.
Kaplan consults on the rental industry with many companies around the world.
He has written extensively for publications, including Construction Equipment Distribution, and wrote the book "Service Success."
He is a popular speaker and has spoken at both the AED Annual Meeting and the AED Executive Forum.
