AED pledges $100,000 in Matching Funds to Katrina Relief.
September 9, Toby Mack, President of AED, announced formation of the Construction Equipment Distribution Industry Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund at The AED/QUALCOMM Executive Forum and pledged to match the first $100,000 in contributions. “The association will match dollar-for-dollar contributions made by AED members and AED employees to the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund and the Salvation Army Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund to a total of $100,000,” said Mack.
“We extend our heartfelt concern and condolences to those who have lost so much as a result of one of the most destructive storms of our lifetime,” said Walter Berry, AED Chairman and Chairman of the Board of Berry Companies, Wichita, Kansas. “And while we are only beginning to learn of the devastation, the need for funds to feed and house the victims of Katrina is clear.”
