Workshops will focus on OSHA vs. ANSI Standards and Trends in Low-level Access and Training
JLG Industries, Inc., an Oshkosh Corporation company [NYSE:OSK] and a leading global manufacturer of aerial work platforms and telehandlers, announced that Brent Hoover, director, product safety and reliability department, and Randy Marzicola, director, business development, will both present at the 2018 National Voluntary Protection Programs Participants’ Association (VPPPA) Symposium in Nashville, Tennessee, Aug. 28-31.
Hoover’s presentation titled “What Are the Differences Between OSHA and ANSI?” will be held Friday, Aug 31, at 8:30 a.m. During his workshop, Hoover will provide an overview of the two organizations and explain the differences in how their regulations are enforced.
“ANSI and OSHA standards must always be adhered to on the job site, but there are noteworthy similarities and differences between these two organizations,” said Hoover. The workshop will also cover how the new ANSI standards will impact machine design, safe use and training.
Marzicola will present “Trends in Low-level Access and Proper Training” Friday, Aug 31, at 8:30 a.m. His workshop will demonstrate how low-level access (LLA) lifts help companies address worksite safety concerns as well as review the current conditions and industry trends in this category, and what the future may hold.
“With safety being of utmost concern, companies are continuing to turn their attention to low-level access lifts as a safer alternative to ladders,” said Marzicola. “This workshop covers what machines comprise the low-level access category and how proper training can help reduce risk on the job site.”
The National VPPPA Symposium brings together safety and health experts from more than 400 different industries who are united in their mission to create safer environments for their peers and colleagues. The event features 100 workshops over three days, 300 exhibitors and numerous networking opportunities.
